Hicri 11-ci ildə (miladi 632-ci ildə) Məhəmmədin vəfatından dərhal sonra ənsarlardan bir neçəsi (mədinəlilər) Səidə qəbiləsinin Səqifəsində (həyətində) toplandılar. Madelunqa görə ənsarlar çox güman ki, Məhəmmədə sədaqətlərinin onun ölümü ilə bitdiyinə inanırdılar və Məhəmmədin icmasının dağılacağını gözləyirdilər. Bu səbəbdən onların görüşündə məqsəd mühacirlərin əksəriyyətinin (Məkkədən köçənlər) onsuz da Məkkəyə qayıdacağına inamla öz şəhərləri, Mədinə üzərində nəzarəti bərpa etmək ola bilərdi.
