Petrolatum (petroleum , lat.-“neft”) – neft yağlarının deparafinləşməsi nəticəsində alınan karbohidrogenlərin qarışığından ibarət olan mürəkkəb kombinasiyadır.
Petrolatumun tərkibi
Petrolatumun tərkibi -əsasən doymuş kristallik və maye halda olan, və tərkibində karbonun miqdarı C25-dən çox olan karbohidrogenlərdən ibarətdir. Xarici görünüşü – qatı, açıq-qəhvəyi rəngdə, damcı düşmə temperaturu 55-650C, qaynama temperaturu 230-2550C-yə malik məhsuldur.
Tətbiqi
Petrolatum kosmetik vasitələrdə və şəxsi gigiyena vasitələrində geniş istifadə olunur, dünyanın bu sahədə olan aparıcı istehsalçılar tərəfindən zərərsiz maddə kimi qəbul edilib. Azərbaycanın unikal neft yataqlarından alınan və naften karbohidrogenlərin əsasında istehsal olunan Ağ petrolatum (ing. White Petrolatum) olduqca effektiv tibbi və kosmetik vasitə sayılır. Ağ petrolatum – tam təmizlənmiş, rafinə edilmiş, iysiz və rəngsiz, böyük istifadə müddəti olan petrolatumdur. Eyni zamanda ağ petrolatum müvəqqəti ağrı ilə müşahidə olunan müəyyən dəri xəstəliklərində ağrıkəsici vasitə kimi də istifadə olunur. Naftalan nefti iltihab proseslərinin qarşısını alır, qan dövranını yaxşılaşdırır, ağrıların azalmasına təsir göstərir. Ənənəvi neftdən alınan petrolatum texnikada və sənayedə serezin üçün xammal kimi istifadə edilir; sürtkülərin, elektrik izolyasiya tərkiblərin komponentlərindən birisi kimi istifadə olunur. Eyni zamanda vazelinin alınmasında vakuum-distillat neft fraksiyalarının qatılaşdırcısı kimi petrolatum, parafin və serezindən istifadə edilir.
